7 Things to do before the beginning of the new year to start fresh on it
It's October now, so it's almost the new year. I can't believe it's the end of the year.
You can prepare for the new year to start it fresh and ready by doing many things, and in this post I'm going to give you 7 ideas which I think are going to help you in this regard.
Even if you are reading this post in the core months of new year, know that you don’t have to stick to those dates. Every month can be an excellent opportunity to get your gears together and start fresh.
1. Decluttering and organizing.
A Lot of things would be piled up across the year in your space and now is the time to organize everything and put everything back to where it belongs, so that you start the new year fresh, because as we all know clear environment equalls clear mind.
Dedicate a day for every area or category in your life to declutter it, only go through one area at a time so that you don’t get exhausted and then give it all together up. Ask yourself the following questions in regard of every and each item in your life regardless of its category:
1. Do I use it?
2. Do I need it?
3. Does it bring me joy?
If any of the answers is no then these items must be either donated or sold out or thrown away. This process is not easy, because we humans tend to hang over
the things that we own more than those which we don’t own, even if those things are so useless. if we didn’t own them and we got asked to buy them, we properly wouldn’t. There is this psychological power of owning things that trigger our mind to think that we will regret it if we get rid of them.
After decluttering everything we need to organize them. Dedicate a space for each category to put it in, and put everything back on its dedicated place. And as you can put everything in its own place as you go through the following days to keep the place organized.
2. Deep cleaning.
I know that you know the meaning of deep cleaning, but in case you don’t I’m gonna explain it right now; deep cleaning is the general house cleaning but more intense one and in addition to that you clean over those areas which are not traditionally cleaned like the refrigrator, the oven and hidden areas of the windows and this is why it called deep cleaning.
It's so refreshing to be in a clean place, but as this reward is so satisfying, the work that put into it isn't easy and isn't clean too- what a clean result that come from such a dirty work!.

3. Reflecting on your goals and filtering through it.
Our goals will change with time and that's totally fine, but we must somehow sit down to evaluate our goals and to decide wether we want to continue processing toward this goal or we want to drop it off, and to reflect on our progress and wether if we are progressing well in this goal or no, and the reasons behind the forward progressing and the backward one, in order to make use of the first one and decrease the later.
Scrap all this process in a piece of paper and then come out with a list of your focusing on goals. You can add the baby steps or the tasks that will lead you to those goals too.
You can go a step further and schedule these tasks in your calender either the first step or all of them as you feel is aprporaite for the specific task. Or you can add them to a to-do list, it totally depends on the system you use to get things done, do what is convenient to you.

4. Forgive yourself and make it a point to start fresh.
There are many projects and goals that you said to yourself that you're gonna do them, but life happened and you didn't. Should you beat yourself over and feel so depressed and sorry for yourself?, if you did so, this will lead you no where but rather it will hinder your progress in life. And hose things are going to happen no matter what you did, we are all together in this, we are suffering, we don't need more suffering, we need forgiveness to handle this life. So forgive yourself and take a fresh new breath and start from where you're now toward your goals, know that this is going to happen and you only need to forgive yourself and start over. Treat yourself as you would treat a friend or others that you care about their feelings and as those whom you make sure they are not hurted by you...Don't let your unconscious self hurt you, it's your responsibility to forgive your precious unique self and give love. Be yourself best friend as the common saying says.
5. Fix your broken or not good relationships and forgive them.
Having enemies and people you hate will not bring you any good but more pressure and additional unnessasary negativity into your life.
So if you have broken or negatively charged relation/s, take the lead and forgive the people involved in it/ them, so that you start the new year freshly with fixed relation/s.
This is for you before it is for them, by doing so you give your mind more space to think, enjoy life, and do things on the right mindset.
However know that some problems are complicated, and there is no soon and fast way to make the relation good. So don't bother yourselves to do this idea to its fullest. Accept that this is how the problem and the relation is. Forgive everyone from your side even if the other side still don't treat you well, choose for yourself the mind peace and remember that there are things that you can't control, so just let them be.

6. Prepare your reading list.
If you are a reader then you might be already familiar with reading list, but it is basically a list of the books that you want to read in a month, in a week, in year, in no certainty time, in any thing.
Prepare your list for the new year, so that you get more excited for reading, and this will make sure that you read in that year. You can make it a check list and check it as you read books through the year, this will be an extra dose of motivation that will make sure you read in the new year.
Keep it in a place where you visit it regularly or you see it occasionally, so that you don't forget it with life events. You can make a vision board and put the pictures of the books covers on it, and then hang it in a place where you can always see it.

7. Finishing unfinished projects.
When you was reflecting in your goals you knew which projects that you're too behind in or the ones that you didn't finished yet, so if you decide in that step of gaol evaluation to continue some projects and goals make sure to finish them, so that the next year you will be more confident on yourself that you'll do what you said you'll do.
Every time you finish something you told yourself that you're gonna finish it, you become more confident in yourself you start to trust yourself more, and you'll be more willing to set goals and plan projects to be done by you.
I hope you try some of those ideas out. Let me know how you felt after finishing them.
